When I first began the final project I had no idea what genres I was going to do, and I was kicking myself for choosing the topic of Tumblr fandoms for my research paper – I mean how can I remix that into three genres!? After talking about it in class and getting ideas from other students, I felt like I had a good grip on what I wanted to do: a poster and a Tumblr blog. At the time I didn’t know what my third genre could be, but it ended up working out perfectly because the blog actually counts for two different genres. In the blog I have reblogged other people’s posts, for example fan art, analysis, gifs, short stories, and quotes. Then I also created and posted some of my own blog posts like quotes, instructions, and a little bit about fandoms. I made a poster to advertise my blog through the website Piktochart, and it was my first one ever, and I’m so proud of it!!! For my working portfolio I basically divided it up into Essays, Assignments, Presentation, and Notecards. I posted the necessary notes from lectures into the Assignments category. The night before I presented my working portfolio I created a whole new Wix site because I screwed up the first one and couldn’t figure out how to get my blog posts to appear on the right page. Considering I basically started from scratch the night before, I’d say I did pretty well. Then when Aiana presented her site during class and had YouTube videos to play music, I got inspired and did the same to my site as soon as I got home. Each song that I have playing relates back to Tumblr and fandoms in some way. I took all the songs from a playlist that I have on Spotify where I keep a bunch of songs that fans use to make video edits of TV shows, movies, books, etc. I am very happy with the way my Project 3 turned out, and I hope you are too!
